(lot of 2) Continental painted canvas panels mounted on wood stretchers, trompe l'oeil Rococo style frames, enclosing views of mountainous landscapes, (one) signed lower left J.E. Regester (?), dated 1993, each panel: approx 72.25"h, 32.25"w

Condition

10.29.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 2265: I note that the framing and stretchers of panels remains secure, canvas overall remains secure to the underlying frame, with some stable tearing and glue reinforcements near the edges (see images), overall I observe areas of exposed canvas associated with paint losses, and areas of minor craquelure with some scattered flaking paint, also having discoloration/ staining or surface grime commensurate with age, the canvas having scattered small tears, all remain stable, and inherent seams at the lower corners along the seams of back stretchers, UV light examination is unremarkable and does not reveal evidence of inpainting or restoration beyond the aforementioned glue reinforcement at edges, close visual examination reveals a signature at the lower left of one panel, I believe it to read J.E. Regester and is dated 1993 (see image), however composition might have been painted onto older canvases
