(pair) French Louis XVI style patinated and gilt metal two-light candelabra, marked Fabrication Francaise/ Paris/ made in France, retailed by Ovington, New York, Chicago, late 19th/ early 20th c., two branches supported by figures, one an infant satyr after the model by Clodion (Michel Claude Clodion, French, 1738-1814), the other a young bacchante after the model by Louis-Felix de La Rue (French, 1731-1765), square green marble base, on bronze toupie feet, bases intact with old professional restorations noted under UV light, approx 17.25"h, base: approx 5.5"w, 5.5"d; 25.5lbs total

10.27.24-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3186-Both appear sturdy and intact, there are some overall rubs and wear to patinated and gilt surfaces, mostly apparent in figures hair and backs, I note some wax residue to candle cups and to figures, candle cups show some Verde patination, metal and trim appear present throughout, both bases exhibit old professional stabilization and restoration, mainly only visible under UV light, I have taken images for your review, edges show some small chipping, particularly to rear corners, all as commensurate with age (late 19thc/early 20thc) and use
Please see attached images for your review.
