(pair) French Louis XVI style patinated and dore bronze two-light candelabra, late 19th c., each depicting a young satyr issuing two cornucopia-form arms, terminating on flared bobeches, rising on circular marble base and toupie feet, underside of base stenciled "France," approx 8"h, 7"w, 4"d; 6.75lbs total
03.21.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 3040: I note that both candelabra are presently intact, all elements appearing securely joined, one have a misaligned foot causing it to stand slightly wobbly, there is tonal variation of the bronze and gilt elements associated with patination, mellowing, rubs, and spotting, all being commensurate with age and use, I observe sparse minute pitting, both having scattered minor chips to the marble base, close visual examination reveals a small seam at the reverse of one base but I am unsure if this is a natural fissure or vein, or if it is a hairline, my fingernail catches at the lower edge of seam, but is smooth/ does not catch at the upper edge, appears fully stable and UV light examination does not reveal evidence of reinforcement, overall UV light examination is unremarkable
