(pair) French Transitional style ormolu-mounted mahogany side tables, early 20th c., having inset ovoid marble top with pierced gallery, over single drawer and medial shelf, apron and shelf with inlaid string banding and geometric parquetry, rising on cabriole legs ending in sabots, approx 26"h, 20.5"w, 15.75"d **Provenance: the contents of the prominent San Antonio Holt Family's Terrell Hills home**
09.24.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3255: I note that both side tables are presently intact and structurally sturdy, the marble securely inset and having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, one top having some minute fills to naturally-occurring seams and pits/ porous spots, both metal galleries display light patination and typical minor warping to a varied degree, all dings to the metal remaining minor, the inlay is remarkably well-preserved and I do not currently observe losses to the inlay throughout either table, both drawers operating smoothly, I observe a couple missing screws to metal elements but all appear to remain securely mounted to veneer, the medial shelf exhibits light spotting commensurate with storage/ use and would benefit from a gentle cleaning, there is minor typical surface wear, which is sparse, such as some minor abrasions and light fading at the knees, and a few minute nicks, all being commensurate with age and light use
