04.30.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 4490: I note that both nightstands are presently intact and structurally secure, the marble tops are adhered to the top of case, both marble tops having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, one with a couple minute professional fills, the drawers operating smoothly, as is the cabinetry, the interiors with worn contact paper lining, the metal drawer pulls appearing secure to front panel with patination/ oxidation, I observe minor evidence of old woodworm commensurate with origin, overall the pair exhibits comparable degrees of tonal variation associated with surface wear, including fading/ discoloration of the finish, spotting, and small peeled finish loss, all being commensurate with age and use, the legs likely previously ended in gilt metal sabots that are now lacking (does not affect structural integrity, both stand sturdy)
