(lot of 2) American Art Nouveau art pottery console set, Weller, early 20th c., in the "Ardsley" pattern, each with stamped maker's mark underfoot, including: (1) cattail centerpiece/ console bowl, overlapping foliate stems forming flared basin, approx 3.75"h, 16.75"diam; (1) kingfisher flower frog, on naturalistic pierced base, intact with glue repair to beak, tail feathers and to top of crest feathers, crazing, approx 9"h, 6.75"w, 5"d; 10.25lbs total
8.18.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 1051- as described and reflected in the start bid, the bird is intact with glue restoration to beak, rear tail feathers and crest, the crest further displays a small chip, the frog holes show some roughness/minute chipping, careful UV light and visual inspections reveal some inherent imperfections throughout both pieces, including pitting and glaze irregularity, there is fine crazing throughout, the bowl is intact with some roughness to edges, one foliate edge has a minute chip and what appears to be a firing flaw or stable hairline, see image, paint loss and wear, and some wear and small chips underfoot to each, please see attached images for your review
