(lot of 3) French Neoclassical gilt and patinated metal garniture set, 19th c., including: (1) mantel clock, having arched pediment with central scrolled mask, above gilt dial with Arabic hour markers, time-and-strike movement marked J. Marti, surrounded by figures on horseback and Roman style armor in relief, flanked by fluted Corinthian columns, rising on footed platform base, lacking pendulum, not currently operational, movement starts and stops, approx 16.5"h, 10.5"w, 7"d; (2) vasiform garnitures, each having dual scrolled handles, above figural battle scene, 14.5"h, 5.5"w, 5"d; 38lbs total
05.06.25: In my opinion regarding LOT: 4039- the group stands sturdy, metal is intact with some overall surface wear, patination, rubs, spotting, and light wear to finish, please find your requested images of panels which appear intact, viewing glass and rear are also intact with no noted chips or cracks, the works do not appear to have a makers mark, the clock winds well and the movement appears to respond to winding, the movement appears to run fast and the clock starts and stops, the bell does strike, as mentioned in the catalog description, the clock is lacking a pendulum, meaning that it is not fully operational at this time, as with all of our clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning
