01.16.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 1039: I note that all books are presently intact, the backstrip of each spine remaining sturdy with a well-preserved structure, with all pages appearing to remain securely bound, I do not currently observe torn or missing pages throughout the three volumes, thorough review of each volume yields the following findings: all volumes with typical light toning to the interior paper, including the hard-sided cover accompanying volume III, the toning is overall very light and appears comparable to their age, interior printed pigments remain overall vibrant and true, volumes I and II having a sparse number of light ink transfer to the margins and blank pages facing prints or lithographs (all are overall minor), the plastic dust cover of volumes II and III have a small tear near corner, the jacket of volume II having areas of rippled warping to edges, the edges of the hardcovers of each volume display typical minor nicks and minute tears and surface-level paper loss commensurate with age, use, and storage
