(lot of 5) Art glass paperweights, Glass Eye Studios, from the Celestial series, each with etched title and acid-etched mark underfoot, polished bases, including: (1) "Rings of Saturn", spiraled tri-color aventurine on blue ground globe, outer colorless disc with filigree rings and gold aventurine, underfoot acid-etched signature; (1) "Full Moon", precious metal-coated exterior over thin black exterior, cut window revealing colorless interior with iridescent moon and pulled hazy clouds against aventurine star clusters; (1) "Saturn", faceted front view window, copper and gold Saturn emerging from behind Jupiter, on blue cushion; together with (1) French Cristallerie Lorraine super magnum faceted weight, cut oval pattern at the foot encircling 1969, acid-etched maker mark, retaining retail label; (1) Belgian Val St. Lambert yellow-green translucent cushion with controlled bubble sheath, dome with floriform cuts, retaining maker label; largest: approx 3.5"h, 4.5"diam; 9.7lbs total **Provenance: From the estate of Carl Carter (Texas, 1955-2023)**
05.06.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1417: I note that all weights are presently intact and sit comfortably and securely against flat surface, after a thorough visual and UV examination, all faceted edges remain smooth, the 1969 weight exhibits a couple light abrasions underfoot commensurate with use, the “Full Moon” weight has phosphorescent inclusions that glow after exposure to UV light, I do not currently observe chips, fractures, or evidence of restoration of any of the weights offered in this lot
