(5) WWI Service Coats: (1) Wool, Pattern 1917, WWI, 2" standup collar with "Lion Brand" size 16 liner and  "U.S. and "Infantry" insignia, bronze buttons. five at front, four buttoned pockets, buttoned shoulder loops, 35th Infantry Division patch at left shoulder, red discharge chevron at left sleeve, lower left sleeve chevron indicating two 6 month service in combat zones, the lined interior with tag at hem "Progressive Knitting Works, Inc., Brooklyn, N,Y., Contract No.-1242N. March 13, 1918, Spec. No. 1285, New York Depot, Q.M.O.", further stamped in ink on the tag "Samuel H. Reiss, U.S. Inspector #557". approx. measure shoulder to shoulder 16", shoulder to cuff 24", shoulder to coat hem 27", overall in good condition;(1) Wool, Pattern 1912, the 1.75" stand up collar with "U.S." and "Quartermaster" insignia, the front with five buttons and buttons at the four pockets and shoulder loops (in order to conserve bronze this uniform coat has buttons made from palm tree nuts and other tree parts, also known as "vegetable ivory"), the right sleeve with Staff Sergeant Quartermaster chevron, the left sleeve with the  40th Infantry Division patch, a red Discharge chevron, near the cuff a chevron indicating 6 month service in a combat zone, the cuffs with two rows of stitching, the lined interior has a stamped mark "Stout, 113", the maker tag at the inside hem reads "Cohen, Goldman & Co. Incorporated, New York, Contract Dec. 24 1917, Spec. No. 1268, the stamp of Inspector Harry ,,,illegible), approx. measurements shoulder to shoulder 17", shoulder to cuff 24.25", shoulder to coat hem 26", coat overall in good condition with one moth hole at front above 2nd button; (1) Wool, Pattern 1917, the 2" stand up collar with "U.S. and "Cavalry" insignia, bronze buttons. four at front (the 5th button is unattached and in the lower right pocket), four buttoned pockets, buttoned shoulder loops, the interior is lined and has several fabric holes, maker tag at the interior "Alfred Benjamin-Washington Uniform Co. Inc., Contract No. 1273N Mar. 18th 1918, New York Depot, Q.M.C. inspector stamp not readable", measures approx. shoulder to shoulder 16", shoulder to cuff 25", shoulder to coat hem 26.5"; (1) Wool, Pattern 1912, with "U.S." and "Ordnance" insignia, the front with five bronze buttons and buttons at the four pockets and shoulder loops. the sleeves with two rows of stitching at cuffs, the left sleeve with the patch of the "1st Army Artillery" and a red discharge patch, the lined interior in good condition, no longer has maker tag, approx. measurements shoulder to shoulder 16", should to cuff 24.25", shoulder to coat hem 25", numerous moth holes; (1) Four button pull over shirt, the two front pockets lack buttons, Staff Sergeant Medical Corps chevron at right sleeve, sleeves with elbow patches and buttons at sleeve cuffs, approx. measurements shoulder to shoulder 17", shoulder to cuff 22.5", shoulder to shirt hem 27", cut out fabric at lower front, moth holes, for shipping total of all approx.  9.45lbs   **Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
