09.04.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 2296: We received these chairs out of an estate in France, but do not have any additional provenance information. I note that all chairs are structurally sturdy, legs appearing secure at joinery, the caning is overall well-preserved and free from notable losses aside from a couple of minute splinters commensurate with age and use, caning remains securely bound throughout edges of back and seat, and securely support weight when in use, I observe a minute patch repair to the front apron of one seat (see image), and some typical light finish fading consistent with use, additionally there is minute evidence of old woodworm seemingly contained to the interior of seats (see images)
