Large patinated bronze sculpture, "The Stagecoach," signed in cast after C.M. Russell (Charles Marion Russell, Montana, California, Missouri, 1864-1926), on integral black marble base, bronze: approx 20"h, 57"l, 9"w, overall: approx 21.5"h, 57"l, 12"w

Condition

10.28.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 2207: This sculpture was not noted by the cataloger to have a foundry mark, upon my review, I have confirmed that the bronze does not bear a foundry mark to be able to identify where it was cast, please note that the sculpture is described as being after C.M. Russell and is instead a reproduction of the original casting, we did not receive any provenance information by the consignor associated with this lot. Upon close visual examination, I do not observe losses, fractures, or evidence of restoration to the bronze, having inherent tonal variation of the patina, and some sparse, minute pitting, the bronze is securely mounted to the marble base, which exhibits a small, stable hairline extending from the central-left back edge (see image)
