Anglo-Indian hardwood sewing or dressing table, mid 19th c., hinged top heavily carved and pierced with foliate motifs, enclosing a compartmentalized interior, a similarly carved work basket below, trestle base joined by cross stretcher, small trim loss right corner, detached but present, approx 29.75"h, 30.25"w, 24"d
11.10.24-In my opinion regarding: 3142-the table is intact and stands sturdy with a slight wobble, the solid center panel and interior panels under open carvings on lift top both show some tonal variation and light spotting, the top has a small loss at the right corner, the detached piece is present, the patina of the wood is warm, wood carvings are largely intact and remain well defined with only some minor nicks and slight wood wear noted, the hinged top opens to reveal a sectioned interior with inner lift storage, the bottom panel shows a stable split (see images) Lock, the top does not sit quite flat as the lock seems to be shifted to the left, this is not visible when staring straight onto the table however, I have taken an image for your review, the drawer slides well and exhibits typical finish wear from opening and closing, all commensurate with age and use, I am not an expert on such pieces so please advise should you have further questions, I have taken numerous images for your review
