Scarce Booklet: "Number 30665 by Number 31538, A Sketch in the Lives of William Sidney Porter (O. Henry) and Al Jennings, the Bandit", Al Jennings, Pioneer Press, Hollywood, Calif.,1941, First Edition, pencil signed at the first inside page by Jennings to Truman O'Quinn together with a 1947 typed letter signed by Jennings to O'Quinn regarding O'Henry, approx. 8.5"H, 5.5"w       Note: William Sidney Porter (O'Henry,1862-1910), short story writer whose works include "The Gift of the Magi". lived for several years in Austin, Texas.  Al Jennings (1863-1961) a ranch hand in Oklahoma, committed two train robberies and sentenced to five years in prison where Porter, who had been convicted of bank embezzlement also resided.. Jennings, later starred in early silent films, and was an attorney. O'Quinn (1905-1990) was a resident of  Austin, Texas, an attorney and served as a state legislator and state judge. O'Quinn was also an historian, particularly interested in O'Henry.  He collected items related to Porter, eventually donating them to the Austin History Center.
