Large Sevres-style porcelain vase and cover, 19th c., with bronze mounts, having acorn finial and dual scrolled foliate handles, hand-painted reserves depicting military scene from the War of the Austrian Succession, the reverse depicting the Chateau de Pierrefonds, artist signed H. Desprez, on porcelain socle decorated with gilt laurel branches and fleurs-de-lis in oval cartouches, against a dark blue ground, approx 46"h, 19"w, 16"d
CR 8.19.25-In my opinion regarding LOT 3282: I note that the urn stands sturdy, all elements fitting together securely, the cover nesting within the mouth comfortably, with a couple minute glaze chips to the interior rim, I observe glaze crazing throughout the body, and some typical light rubs to the gilded trim, the bronze remains securely mounted with tonal variation associated with patination, close visual examination reveals a minute hairline extending from one of the porcelain section of handle at side (see image, circled in blue), which remains fully stable, UV light examination reveals an area of possible restoration at the socle base (see images under natural and UV light)
