10.2.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 1278- the work was examined on the wall, please refer to online images for a view of the back, a UV light examination did not reveal evidence of inpainting or retouching, I do note scattered fine age craquelure most visible within the darker waves and lower left, I note a minute impressed mark in the upper right cloud band, overall the paint layer reads sound with no lifting or active cupping seen, , the carved and gilt frame shows expected wear with small losses and rubs to high points, faint open seams at corners, and a stable hairline at the lower ornament, all wear minor and commensurate with handling and display
