04.05.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1397: I note that the sculpture is presently intact, sitting securely against flat display surface, there is light dirt and grime build up in crevices and would benefit from a gentle cleaning, there are a couple minute chips, namely to the end of the ribbon resting on the base, and to the flower leaf in Magu’s hair, there are some minor firing flaws, such as at the back of the neck on robe collar, the contours of the basket held by figure, and the back legs of deer, there is loss to one of the deer antlers, the other with minute hairline at the tip, observation under UV light is unremarkable and does not suggest evidence of restoration
