Chinese carved wood figure of the Buddha,  hair arranged in tight curls  around domed ushnisha, elongated earlobes, downcast eyes, facial features highlighted with paint, loosely draped robes, holding a small vessel in the palm of his left hand, standing on a double lotus base, open cavity (approx 1 3/8" x 7/8") at the back of the sculpture, losses to fingers on both hands, visible glue residue around base of vessel, approx 10 3/8"h, 3"diam, 1lbs **Provenance: from a fine Houston estate**

LOT – 1412-The figure is intact and stands sturdy, robe folds and carvings remain crisp and well defined, a UV examination reveals some glue residue noted on vessel in hand, repair and losses to fingers, wood displays some small abrasions, chips, and natural imperfections, the back is open, lacking the small closure piece, lotus base further exhibits some small wood chips/loss, the figure is securely attached to the base so I am unable to photo the underside of the figure, I am not an expert on such items so I have taken numerous images for your review
