Framed oil on canvas panel painting, Texas Hill Country Landscape with Bluebonnets, signed lower left D.S. Nabinger (Texas, 1905-1988), sight: approx 11 5/8"h, 15 5/8"w, overall: approx 13.75"h, 17.75"w, 1.75lbs
9.4.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 2071- please note I am not an expert on fine art so have included numerous high-resolution images provided for your reference, a UV light examination is unremarkable and shows no evidence of inpainting or later restoration, the surface shows a small localized area of paint flakes in the leaves of the tree at the upper right and a few scattered flakes along the lower right side and corner at the frame edge, when the board was examined out of the frame I noted expected minor paint losses and rubbing to the outer margins of the board, these are confined to the edges and not visible when framed, the verso shows general toning and foxing to the board consistent with age, and retains its manufacturer’s printed info (which is upside down compared when viewing the work from the front), no additional inscriptions were observed, the frame is stable with some light abrasions and light wear from handling and display, overall the work appears free from major loss or restoration and displays well with only minor surface wear commensurate with age and medium
