Diminutive French turned faux bamboo and pine dressing table/ vanity, possibly a salesman sample or for a child, 20th c., swiveling flat mirror plate, over inset marble top, apron fitted with single drawer, and handle at each side, over medial shelf, overall: approx 35"h, 20.5"w, 11"d
09.04.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1182: Please note that this vanity is of an irregular, diminutive scale, I note that the vanity is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the beveled mirror plate is free from observed chips and fractures, having minute spotting and silver loss commensurate with age, the handles appear securely fixed to either side, the marble having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, I do not currently observe hairlines or chips to the marble top, and the drawer currently operates smoothly, there is a small segment of trim loss at the left hand side that has seams of a filled restoration, the front edge of this region also having been concealed with incising imitating the faux bamboo, and there being visible glue reinforcement of this corner of the shelf to the leg, there is a minor split at the back left corner extending from the leg but appears to remain structurally secure, there is typical tonal variation with light discoloration/ staining, and typical minor surface wear such as small abrasions, nicks, and scuffs commensurate with age and use
