10.9.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 3099: Upon close examination under a loupe with my supervisors, we do not know if the inlay is bone or ivory, I have attached numerous up-close images of the inlay for your review, I note that the cabinet is structurally sturdy, with tonal variations of the finish associated with fading and light discoloration, the cabinet doors remain tight and secure on hinges, the back panel of the cabinet interior is in a walnut veneer, the angled sides are lined with mirror plates (four mirror plates total), including one with some chipped loss at the lower right edge (see image), all mirror plates having silver losses consistent with age, inlaid material appears to be retained throughout and free from observed losses, and there is evidence of woodworm commensurate with origin, and there is sparse minor surface wear such as small veneer chips/ nicks and light abrasions commensurate with age and use
