English Edwardian crossbanded mahogany shaving stand, first quarter 20th c., telescoping and tilting shield-shaped mirror with a beveled plate, raised backsplash above the inset marble top, single frieze drawer, brass hanging rod, tapering square-section legs joined by an undertier, approx 58.5"h, 16.5"w, 17.25"d C.R. 09.08.25: I note that the stand is structurally secure throughout, the mirror swivels smoothly and is secured to mechanism with a later screw, having some minute silver loss spotting commensurate with age, the marble inset is free from observed fractures/ hairlines or visible chipping, I observe some typical minor splits, all remaining stable and secure, mostly appearing along the veneer grain, parquetry is overall well-preserved and free from notable losses, there is a small nail hole above the towel rack mounting on the upper back leg, and a sparse amount of typical minor surface wear such as small chips, nicks, and abrasions commensurate with age and use Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
