8.22.24-LOT 2195: I note that the chest and stand are presently intact and structurally sturdy, with the chest sitting comfortably on the latter, with evidence of old woodworm commensurate with origin, there is a glue repair to the trim below the top right hand drawer (see image), as well as there being splits of varying degree, most of them being minor and commensurate with age, none seeming to affect structural integrity, some being reinforced, there is alligatoring with minor lifting throughout the veneer applied to the drawers, most of these areas have been reinforced with fill, I note a segment of veneer loss towards the right hand side of top edge of stand, the apron exhibits a restoration to a split extending from lower edge, the opposite side having two patched repairs (see images), the surface wear, such as abrasions, chips, nicks, and minor restorations observed throughout the chest and stand is commensurate with age and use of 18th century origin
