Condition

03.14.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 1184: I note that the desk is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the top having a small section of chipped loss at the back left corner, the front right foot with a minor glue restoration, the drawers fitted with later hardware, and opening relatively smoothly, with typical bottom panel separation remaining intact, the interior of the desk with some minor ink staining commensurate with use, the bone inlay escutcheon of the monogrammed cabinet door at the interior with a minute hairlines, one of the interior drawers lacking a pull, I observe splits to the veneer, most of which are minor and typical, all appearing stable, and minor scuffed or peeled losses to the finish, which are sparse, I observe scattered evidence of old woodworm, and typical minor surface wear such as nicks, chips, and abrasions, all being commensurate with Georgian origin and use
