11.6.25 -  In my opinion regarding: 3038- We are unsure of the material as the lacquer is dark and we do not have an expert on such items on staff, it appears to be shell of some sort as the inner rim (see zoomed online images) appears with mottling, the lid fits tightly and case is overall intact with some rubs, small nicks/minute losses to edges and lacquer, minor wear and patination, as visible in online images there are imperfections to the top surface with minor lifting and variation, the figural scene remains well defined, all commensurate with age, since we are unsure of the material this lot will only be sold in Texas
