Renaissance Revival highly-carved rosewood parlor chair, 19th c., openwork scrolled splat with acanthus leaves and fruit motifs, centering grotesque mask, figural winged griffin handholds, over upholstered slip seat, rising on cabriole legs, ending on paw feet, intact with restoration, back leg likely later, approx 37.5"h, 29.5"w, 23.5"d, seat height (excluding cushion): approx 17.5"h, seat height (including cushion): approx 20"h
07/06/2026: In my opinion regarding LOT: 3077- the chair is in stable and sturdy condition exhibiting a warm and tonal patina, carvings are well maintained, I note what appear to be seams on the back that are likely inherent to the construction of the chair, however I have taken images for your review, there does appear to be a glue repair at center splat, I further note some nicks, small wood losses, rubs and visible seams, one wing appears to be repaired and another has a small wood loss, the rear leg is stable and not carved, we do not know if this is original, all mentioned commensurate with age and use
