9.25.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3066 – the painting was examined hanging on the wall, please refer to online images for views of the back, I am not an expert on such works so I have included numerous high-resolution images for your reference, a UV light examination reveals an older varnish layer, light craquelure throughout, I note some scattered small areas of possible overpainting minor inpainting and spotting, the surface overall shows accumulated dust and grime and the work would likely benefit from a professional cleaning, the paint layer retains inherent texture and appears stable overall, the giltwood frame is intact with typical small chips losses and glue repairs to protruding foliate and ribbon elements, I note scattered areas of paint loss exposing gesso as well as minor overpaint and retouching with varied coloration all consistent with frames of this type, I am sorry, I cannot provide a precise date though the work came to us from an estate in Italy
