02.13.26 - In my opinion regarding LOT 2301: I note that the canvas is securely encased within framing, which structurally sturdy with sparse typical minor surface wear such as a couple of small chips/ nicks and abrasions commensurate with use/ hanging, close visual examination of the painting reveals a few minute, pinhole-sized punctures at the central left quadrant in the clouds (see images), the composition is finished with a yellowed varnish and would benefit from a professional cleaning, I observe some scattered small paint losses, including at the edges consistent with inherent rubs against the frame, UV light examination is unremarkable and does not show evidence of restoration, I am unable to fully examine the canvas verso due to it being concealed by a dust cover, however I can see a burlap-like material, which the painting may have been executed on and accounts with inherent small areas of texture throughout the composition, canvas remains secure on stretchers and overall taut
