French Charles X period walnut commode, mid 19th c., having marble top, over concealed frieze drawer, above three additional drawers, each displaying foliate gilt metal pulls, ending on circular feet, approx 35.5"h, 51.5"w, 24"d
02.03.26: In my opinion regarding LOT 2346: I note that the commode is structurally sturdy, the marble having typical minor edge chipping and some small areas of light fading, the veneer displaying typical light tonal variations associated with minor surface wear such as small veneer chips and reinforced splits commensurate with age and use, as well as some scattered fills, notably at the left edge of the frieze drawer but remaining overall minor, I observe evidence of old woodworm commensurate with origin, most spots with filled concealment, and a small segment of trim loss at the top edge if right side panel
