French Empire period bronze dore and crystal portico clock, early 19th c., having stepped pediment, rising on columnar cut crystal supports with Corinthian capitals, centering white dial with Roman numeral hour markers and Arabic second markers, time-and-strike movement marked Sonniere Progres, double-marked Barillet Demontable S.G.D.G. Brevete, accompanied by a pendulum with central floral rosette, ending on platform base and bun feet, accompanied by a key, observed operating, starts and stops, approx 18.25"h, 9"w, 5.75"d, 14.5lbs
CR 12.5.25- As mentioned, the clock was observed operating but starts and stops after a few minutes, the rightmost keyhole is relatively difficult to wind indicating that it may be wound tight, the suspension spring is intact and the accompanying key and pendulum appear to be well-fitting, the bell and striker resound nicely when manually struck, there is typical light crazing and small chips to the dial, as with all of our antique clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning
