French Rococo style machine-woven tapestry, JP Panneaux Gobelins, Paris, 20th c., depicting a gallant courtship scene, with figures in verdant landscape, nailed to wood beam, retaining maker label verso, approx 49.5"h, 82.5"w 05.26.26: Please note that we are not textile and tapestry experts, from a visual examination, I note that the weave is overall well-preserved and free from observed holes, tearing, evidence of restoration, separation, or visible losses, the color palette appears to be inherently muted, which I believe to be original to creation in order to create an aged appearance, I note some typical loose threads at the unfinished edge of trim, also having a few spots of minute staining at the exterior edge of trim, as described to tapestry is secured at the top edge to a wood beam with small nails, one corner of the tapestry being detached from the beam (see images)
