CR 3.24.25-In my opinion regarding LOT 1173: As described there is some silver loss to the mirror plate, which occurs throughout but is most prevalent along the central right-hand edge, in addition to hazing/ spotting and visible diamond dust (inherent to mercury-based glass of the period), the mirror plate is free from observed fractures/ hairlines or visible chipping (not examined outside frame), the frame securely encases mirror plate, with some typical minor splits appearing to remain stable (not affecting structural integrity), the gilt finish is overall well-preserved with tonal variations associated with patination, spotting, a light build-up of surface grime, and some sparse surface wear such as small chips with visible gesso and light abrasions, all being commensurate with age and use
