French Louis Philippe walnut commode, mid 19th c., having rounded rectangular top, over protruding frieze drawer, and three long drawers, rising on frontal bracket feet, stable separation at side panels, approx 36.5"h, 53"w, 24.5"d
02.04.26: In my opinion regarding LOT 2166: As described there is stable separation at the side panels, some segments with filled reinforcement, I note that the commode is structurally secure, having an attractive figuring and finish, with some typical tonal variations associated with scattered staining, I observe naturally occurring knots and burls with fill to create a smooth surface, and a corner of loss to the lower left corner of the frieze drawer, all drawers operate smoothly, I observe scattered fills, most being small in size aside from an area of stable separation on the top which has been professionally reinforced, and there is typical minor surface wear such as abrasions, nicks, and veneer chipping, as well as old evidence of woodworm commensurate with origin
