French Louis Philippe walnut commode, mid 19th c., having marble top with molded edge, over protruding frieze drawer with divided interior, and three long drawers with brass shield-form escutcheons, rising on flared bracket feet, approx 37"h, 49.5"w, 22.25"d
CR 1.13.26 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 2380- please refer to online images for best views available with zoom, as the commode is located in a cramped in dark area of the gallery, the marble top is intact with a stable filled hairline to the front and some typical minute roughness/chipping along the edges, a few scattered light abrasions and minor spotting, the case exhibits light wood wear, some small veneer losses, mostly concentrated to the drawer tops, concealed when closed, a few small wood losses to trim, and tonal variation, drawers slide well but would likely benefit from a good waxing to facilitate smoother movement, the top sectioned drawer shows some staining and a small slim gap to panel, the others, including the concealed trim drawer are largely clean, I am unable to view side panels, please refer to the online images, where I observe stable filled splits to each, all mentioned commensurate with the mid 19thc. age and use of the commode
