French Louis XV style walnut commode, early 20th c., having marble top with rounded corners, over frieze drawer with crimped trim, above pair of paneled cabinet doors with carved scrollwork and incised latticing, concealing three additional drawers, scrolled apron with central carved foliate, rising on cabriole legs, ending on whorl feet, approx 43"h, 48.5"w, 23"d
02.02.26: I note that the commode stands sturdy, the marble top having typical minor chipping, and is free from observed hairlines/ fractures or evidence of restoration, I observe minor evidence of woodworm commensurate with origin, and some slight, stable separation of the raised trim around the door paneling, the front left-hand leg displaying a minor split which appears stable and does not compromise structural integrity, the cabinet doors remain tight on hinges, and the drawers operate smoothly with overall well-kept/ clean interiors
