French Louis XVI style carved walnut sideboard, early 20th c., having rectangular top over three drawers, above three cabinet doors, flanked by fluted corner posts, gilt metal ribbon trim escutcheons, rising on squared and tapered legs, approx 39.5"h, 70 3/8"w, 20 5/8"d
3.10.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3396 – Please pardon the images as the gallery location made it difficult to photograph the piece, any white glare is reflection, the structure is sturdy, the surface is slightly reflective but not high gloss or coated with a thick polyurethane finish, it has a muted sheen that (in my opinion only) appears more matte under typical lighting, however, due to overhead lighting it may appear more reflective in the images, the top displays some sticker residue that could likely be cleaned, I further note some tonal variation, surface wear and light wear to the finish, there is scattered evidence of old woodworm which has been filled/reinforced, as typical of its antique origin, the case exhibits light rubs, small nicks and minor wood wear, mostly noted along the corners and edges, drawers and doors operate smoothly, interior shelving is secure, all noted issues are minor and commensurate with the origin, age, and use of the sideboard
