French Louis XVI style black-painted bureau plat/ writing desk, early 20th c., with inset gold-tooled red leather top, over four drawers and dual pull-out slides, finished on all sides with inlaid brass trim, rising on fluted tapered legs, ending on brass cap feet, repair to brass trim at back left side, approx 30.5"h, 51"w, 27.5"d, both slides extended: approx 78.5"w, kneehole: approx 24"h, 19.25"w
9.26.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 3225: As described there is a minute restoration to the back left corner of the brass trim with the reinforcement of a small nail (see images), I note that the desk is structurally sturdy throughout, the black-painted finish is overall well-retained with some minor abrasions and nicks commensurate with age and use, brass trim remains securely mounted throughout and exhibits small denting consistent with use, the leather remains firmly inset and is secure throughout edges, having tonal variations associated with areas of discoloration/ staining, also having typical minor peeling and abrasions commensurate with use, the central right quadrant with a small, triangular shaped seam but I am uncertain of what this might be from, the spot remains secure and exhibits a comparable tone to surrounding areas (see image), drawers operate smoothly and retain overall well-kept/ clean interiors, please refer to attached images
