French Louis XVI style "plum pudding" mahogany secretaire a abattant/ fall-front secretary, late 19th c., having shaped marble top, above frieze drawer and fall-front cabinet door, revealing inset leather writing surface and interior gallery, flanked by fluted corner posts, with two lower cabinet doors, opening to interior drawer, on tapering legs, approx 54"h, 37.5"w, 16"d
06/04/2026- In my opinion regarding: 3461- please refer to online images for best views as the cabinet is located in a very cramped area of the gallery, the structure is in sturdy and stable condition, the marble top displays very minor typical chipping along the edges, and some minor staining, drawers and doors operate correctly however, all could benefit from a good waxing to facilitate even smoother movement, the fall-front squeaks when lowered, the panel shows some minor stress lines to left side, see image, (very minor), leather writing surface is heavily worn, I note rubs, stains etc., overall the case exhibits tonal variation, some small rubs, nicks and general light wear, inner lower cabinet shows some staining to right side, metal shows patination, all mentioned commensurate with age and use, please refer to online images for views of side panels
