French Louis XVI style mahogany bureau plat/ writing desk, late 19th c., having rectangular top with embossed leather surface, above single drawer, with gilt metal trim and foliate mounts, rising on fluted tapered supports, ending on brass feet, approx 29"h, 43.5"w, 26"d
09.24.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3369: I note that the bureau plat is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the leather writing surface is securely inset, with abrasions and typical tonal variations from areas of light fading and staining/ discoloration commensurate with age and use, there are some reinforcements to split and lifted veneer that borders the inset leather, I observe patination of mounted metal elements, all of which appear to remain securely fastened to veneer, one small segment of the trim being slightly lifted near the center of drawer, there is sparse typical minor surface wear such as light abrasions and nicks commensurate with age and use
