French Napoleon III period cave a liqueur, late 19th c., having matched veneer case, with gilt metal and shell inlay, opening to removable cradle fitted with (four) crystal decanters with stoppers, (fourteen) cordials, one decanter stopper with chip to corner, one decanter stopper with chip to bottom edge, one cordial of a slightly varied pattern, case: approx 10.25"h, 12.75"w, 10.25"d, 16lbs total
02.13.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1175: As described one of the decanter stoppers has a chip to corner, another stopper with chip to bottom edge, and one of the cordial glasses is of a slightly different pattern, I note that the case is intact, with well-retained inlay at the front panel, the metal banding and interior cradle elements exhibit patination, and the lock plate is currently operational with minute dent and appearing to lack a screw at either end, about half of the cordials have minor chipping to the corners of the square foot to varying degrees, and a couple cordials have minor chips to the rim, each side of the cradle has an open slot for an additional cordial, each piece fits comfortably in designated compartment, and all glass elements would benefit from a thorough cleaning
