French Neoclassical style figured fruitwood commode, late 19th c., having three drawers with banded parquetry trim, flanked by fluted corner posts, rising on tapered legs, approx 36.25"h, 45"w, 22"d
11.21.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3380: I note that the commode is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the top having typical minor panel separation, and tonal variations arising from areas of finish fading and discoloration/ light staining, I observe evidence of old woodworm commensurate with origin, most spots having filled concealment, and some typical small splits, all currently appearing to remain stable, the parquetry trim is overall well-preserved and free from presently observed visible losses, and there is typical minor surface wear, which is overall sparse in occurrence, such as light abrasions, small veneer chips and nicks, some with filled concealment
