10.24.24-I note that the chest is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the marble top having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, as well as some typical minor chipping along the unfinished back edge, there are a small number of additional chips at front and side edges with a painted concealment, the case having inherent tonal variations, and some light water spotting to the drawers, the left-hand side panel having a central split with filled reinforcement, the apron also having seam reinforcement at either end of joinery to legs, all drawers currently operating smoothly, with patination of the metal pulls and fading/ rubs to the gilt finish, there is typical light surface wear commensurate with age and use such as minor nicks and abrasions
