10.24.24-I note that the commode is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the back paneling being intact with filled restorations and typical separation, the case with evidence of old woodworm commensurate with age and origin, and having typical tonal variations throughout, particularly at the top as is commensurate with 18th century origin, the top having typical minor fills to small splits and chips, and a central split extending from end-to-end of top with filled reinforcement, the drawers currently operate smoothly, the bottom paneling possibly having been replaced, the lowermost drawer with small fills to bottom panel, and a segment of loss to string inlay near the center of front panel, all drawers have been fitted with later lockplates and pulls, and I observe typical minor surface wear such as small nicks, light abrasions, and chips commensurate with age and use
