03/17/2026- In my opinion regarding LOT: 1180- please note that I am not an expert on paintings so have taken numerous high-resolution images for your review, a careful UV light examination reveals an aged varnish layer, scattered areas of inpainting visible primarily within the blanket and to portions of the white and brown dog’s head, a very minor small abrasion is noted near one dog’s foot, with minute paint flakes visible at the extreme corners, the paint surface otherwise appears stable with light age-related craquelure present, the board is overall intact, the frame shows areas of spotting along with small chips, wear and scattered rubs to the gilt surfaces, the frame is heavily detailed with anthemion and running ornament decoration, all observed commensurate with age, handling and display
