07.09.2026- In my opinion regarding LOT 3174: Upon close visual examination, I note that the painted finish exhibits typical small flaked losses and surface wear such as light discoloration expected of the described 17^th century origin, the painted decoration also with some minor spots of craquelure, the bottom of the staff is detached from the base with visible gesso around intended joinery spot but remains secure in the hand of the figure, UV light examination reveals a possible minute, professional fill to one of the fingers however I am uncertain (see images under UV with slight fluorescence and natural light), blacklight examination is otherwise unremarkable, additionally I observe evidence of old woodworm commensurate with age and origin, the underside of the base exhibits two small nail-heads or studs likely related to reinforcement of the figure
