10.7.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 1198: I note that the cabinet is structurally secure, the shelving appearing sturdy throughout, there is “alligatoring”/ crazing of the lacquer or varnish finish (see images), the top of case with some scattered fills or concealments at the site of veneer chips (see images), and some discoloration/ staining commensurate with age and use, cabinet doors and drop-front operate smoothly and retain overall well-kept/ clean interiors, the right side cabinet with some small professional reinforcements of the burls within a naturally occurring knot, the central shelving with some tonal variation associated with light fading, and there is some scattered minor surface wear such as light abrasions and small chips commensurate with age and use
