Italian Neoclassical figured walnut commode, 19th c., having marble top, over four drawers with parquetry banded trim, canted corners with inlaid faux fluting, rising on tapered supports, ending on sabots, approx 34.5"h, 35"w, 17"d
08.13.25: In my opinion, I note that the commode stands sturdy, the marble top is free from observed fractures/ hairlines, having some light discoloration and a couple minor chips along the front edge, which are typical and commensurate with age and use, the finish with tonal variations associated with spotting and fading, the drawer operate smoothly and retain well-kept/ clean interiors, drawer pulls remaining securely mounted, the side panels are intact with seams of reinforced panel separation, which is consistent with 19th century origin, I observe minor evidence of old woodworm, and the parquetry is well-preserved without observed losses, I note some typical minor surface wear such as small chips and abrasions commensurate with age and use
