02.14.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1227: I note that the sculpture and pedestal are presently intact, with the sculpture sitting comfortably and securely on the latter, there are inherent natural inclusions and fissures throughout the travertine, as well as areas of porosity, notably to the knees of the figure and neck of the horse, I observe a glue restoration to the bottom tips of one of the wings, and areas of chipping, such as the tips of flower petals on the rock-form and to the edges of base, the wood at the base of the pedestal exhibits light surface wear such as minor abrasions and nicks
