Large French Aubusson style machine-woven tapestry, attributed to Panneaux Gobelins, Paris, 20th c., depicting courting couples in a verdant riverside landscape, mounted on wood stretcher, reverse stamped Made in France, otherwise unmarked, approx 54"h, 99.5"w, 13lbs 06.26.26: Please note that I am not an expert on textiles and tapestries, as described the tapestry is mounted to a wood box stretcher, remaining securely bound throughout the perimeter, I observe typical light fading and some areas of minor staining/ discoloration commensurate with age and use/ display, the weave is free from observed tearing, holes, or evidence of restoration, approximately 6” of either end of the scene is lost due to the bounding to stretchers (see images)
