Large French Neoclassical style bronze and slate mantel clock, late 19th c., having figural topper modeled as a seated woman in draped gown, holding cornucopia of flowers, over porcelain dial marked Herbillon a Paris, time-and-strike movement marked Pons Medaille D'Or 1827, rising on stepped base with central reserve containing two cherubs in high relief, among floral swag and foliate scrollwork, rising on scrolled feet, accompanied by pendulum, approx 26"h, 20.5"w, 8.5"d **Provenance: From the estate of Leslie and Angelyn Smith, Austin, Texas** Start Price: $300.00

Condition

1.8.24-LOT – 1377-The clock stands, sturdy, metal displays some overall rubs, spotting, particularly noted at face, and varied patination throughout, stone case is intact with only a very small chip noted at rear and some roughness and minute chipping along edges, the  dial is intact with a small chip to enamel noted below right keyhole, beveled glass window appears free of any chips or cracks on visible areas, rearview window does show some very minor small chipping along the glass edge, the bell and striker operate and the pendulum is present. The clock is currently operational and was observed operating for five minutes.
